Stephan is a registered Architect (Victoria, Australia) with over 13 years experience working on architectural, interior & urban design projects in Australia, China, UAE & Kenya. He was educated at the University of Melbourne (Australia), and Paris Val de Sèine école d’Architecture (France) and holds a Bachelor in Planning & Design (Architecture), and a Bachelor of Architecture with honours. His experience covers multiple project sectors, diverse scales & complexity, and all phases of project delivery - from concept design & master planning through to contract administration & post-occupancy services. Stephan has worked in small & medium sized design studios as well as large commercial firms that operate globally.
He spent 6 years working with the Melbourne-based architectural practice McBride Charles Ryan (MCR), where he was involved in projects in the residential, retail, health & education sectors. At MCR he was Project Architect for the Dallas Brooks Community Primary School which received the highest honour at the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) state awards - the Victorian Architecture Medal - and was also a recipient of a National Award for Public Architecture, both in 2014. He was a Senior Architect on the MCR team that delivered the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre building in collaboration with STH and Design Inc, a significant Government project that was recognised with the Victorian Medal and William Wardell Award for Public Architecture For Public Architecture at the 2017 AIA state awards.
Stephan has consulted for Architects without Frontiers Australia on community development projects in East Africa, and has a focus on education design, and applying design skills in development & humanitarian contexts. He currently lives in Nairobi, Kenya.
